We have an exciting opportunity for a Sommelier to join our passionate team at Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay, located in the Savoy Hotel

Inspired by dishes first created by Georges Auguste Escoffier during his time at the Savoy Hotel in 1890, Restaurant 1890 has created a blend between unparalleled service, culinary creativity, and exquisite wines. The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience, serving a modern French menu with a European influence, using only the finest ingredients sourced from all corners of the world and a vintage wine list to match.

What you do?

  • As Sommelier you pride yourself on having a great understanding of wine and guests, recommending and selling wines to our guests that will complement their tastes and meal, creating a memorable guest experience
  • You ideally hold WSET L2 qualification or equivalent
  • You are eager to learn from the Head Sommelier and support senior members of the team
  • You are confident in training, developing, and passing on your wine knowledge to the more junior members of the team
  • You naturally enjoy building rapport with others and working as part of a team
  • You are keen to use your interpersonal and organisational skills, energy, and passion for wine and beverage to ensure the highest standards are constantly achieved
