Sam’s Riverside – Critically acclaimed Modern British Restaurant & Bar on the Hammersmith Riverside overlooking Hammersmith Bridge, the restaurant has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2019.

We always intended to open a high-end “shop” extension of Sam’s Riverside and so we did in August 2020 when Sam’s Larder was born with its first location in Hammersmith. Since then, we opened a new site in Chiswick and this Summer a third site will see the light in new Brentford Project development area.

Sam’s Larder Chiswick has been a labour of love as we have filled the shelves with everything we adore. Located on the buzzy Turnham Green Terrace, we have been evolving and fine tuning to make the perfect local shop.

Think cheeses from Neal’s Yard, bread, pastries, biscuits & savouries from Seven Seeded, British charcuterie from Cobble Lane, we have hundreds of lines from artisan producers as well as wines from the Sam’s restaurant wine list. We get deliveries direct from New Covent Garden – Fruit & vegetables, Flowers & plants.

Alongside this, Head Chef from Sam’s Riverside creates fabulous pies for the freezer – Fish Pie, Chicken, Bacon & Tarragon Pie, Goan Fish Curry & Chicken Curry, Winter Crumbles & Our Ice Cream & Sorbets.

We are looking for a vibrant, experienced Shop Manager to manage our shop floor and work alongside our Front of House team. The position is Full Time, with immediate start.

You will need to demonstrate a stable background working in a busy, high end restaurant and or deli shop. Passion & Enthusiasm is essential, as well as an Hospitality background.

Over the last 3 years we have established a really great little shop and business with Sam’s Larder which has found its own identity in a vast and competitive market.

Principal duties:

  • Creating the presentation of counters, ensuring they are maintained and fully stocked
  • Ensuring that the service areas are clean and tidy according to merchandising standards
  • Ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed and compliant
  • Operating and security of tills, temperature control, recording of waste, cleaning and maintenance of machines
  • Attending training and meetings as required by the company
  • Create appropriate merchandising displays daily.
  • Managing day to day running of the deli.
  • Monitor sales, stock rotation and wastage.
  • Monitor staff costs and forecasts
  • Create and publish weekly rotas
  • To ensure all staff maintains high standards of customer care and relations at all times.
  • Deal with enquires and complaints promptly.
  • Implement hygiene, legislation and health and safety policies.
  • Ensure all stock management systems are maintained accurately, within the agreed parameters and in a timely manner using it to its full capabilities.
  • Other work as directed by the Larder Area Manager.
