We’re pleased to invite you to the first joint event presented by the Sake Makers Association, Trade Hospitality and the UK Sommelier Academy — a practical, trade-focused deep dive into sake for hospitality professionals.
The day is structured around two standalone sessions, and you’re welcome to attend one or both:
Morning Session – Foundations (10:00–12:00)
An introduction to sake for the trade, covering key styles, production basics, service, and tasting technique.
Includes a guided tasting of 8 sakes, an introduction to shochu, and a blind tasting.
Afternoon Session – Advanced (13:30–16:30)
A deeper dive into sake, exploring regionality, fermentation (moto), trends, and food pairing with a focus on umami.
Includes a guided tasting of 8 different sakes, an introduction to shochu, blind tasting, and Q&A.
Full-day attendees will taste 16 sakes in total, with a different lineup in each session.
The sessions will be led by Michael Tremblay, Sake Samurai, James Beard Award–winning author, and International Wine Challenge Panel Chair.
